Hi, I’m Abigail. Welcome to my PhD blog.
I’m a second year PhD student at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, where I study
Medieval Studies. When I’m not studying, I love to travel. This is Trinity Library
in Ireland. And along with that I like to play with my dog, Lupin, who is a Shiba Inu
Labrador retriever mix. This is the reading that I have to do this semester; I’m really
looking forward to diving in. What I want to do with this blog is use it
as an opportunity to talk about my experiences as an American PhD student in the field of
Medieval Studies. I’m going into my second year, which means I have a lot of decision-making
in my future, trying to decide what I‘m going to do for comprehensive exams, what
I want my dissertation to be about, and going to conferences and getting an opportunity
to meet people from different regions who study the same things that I do. I hope you can come along with me on my journey
and we can have conversations about what it means to be a graduate student, and how to
get the most out of your graduate education. Thanks.
