Tutorial: Ordering Books from the Distance Minnesota Bookstore


Welcome to Distance Minnesota. In this
tutorial we will help you view and/or order required textbooks and
course materials from the Distance Minnesota Bookstore. To
begin visit distanceminnesota.org. Go to students on the menu and choose
current students. There are two ways to navigate to the bookstore: from the online bookstore quick link on the right, or the bookstore icon in the resources
below. Find and click the Bookstore link Several answers to frequently asked
questions are available at this page to assist with ordering, renting or
returning books and more. Click to Distance Minnesota
Bookstore link to get started in viewing required course
materials for an upcoming term. Once at our bookstore website, scroll books in the
blue menu bar and select textbooks and course
materials. All searching is done by drop down. It is important that you have your course schedule available in order to be sure you view the required
materials for the correct course for courses. For this tutorial will be searching for
books for Biol 2252 biology 2252 section 90. First select your term. Select your department For this example BIOL. Select your course by number, for this example 2252 Select your section for this example, section 90. Be sure
you use the correct search criteria and click submit. All required
textbooks and materials will display for the course chosen. Please note: the display automatically
selects the purchase option that is the lowest price. In most cases
this means the rental version of the book. If you do not wish to rent textbooks,
which has very specific return policies, be sure to choose another option for
purchase. In this example, we will choose to buy new and add the item to our cart. You will be
given the option to search for additional materials for other
courses or continue to the cart and checkout. We will opt to go to our cart. We are able to
review our cart to delete any items and make a choice of what to do if inventories change. Review all information carefully and then move to check out. At this point all shoppers are asked to
log in with an existing account or create a new one. If creating an account, you are encouraged to use your college email address {typing} {typing} Choose your delivery preferences and continue to checkout. Review payment options If you have a promotional code from the
bookstore, enter it here. Please note, that if you’re charging books to
financial aid the payment option is under Payment Type. You will be asked to provide your name and
student ID number to validate funds available. Northland
Community and Technical College and Alexandria Technical and Community
College students using a third-party pay to purchase books need to complete the third party pay form found at the Distance Minnesota website. Feel welcome to call 1.800. 657.3930 for assistance with finding that form. The rest is much like any
